Alameda County ACBH provides behavioral health services for Alameda County residents. The following list includes behavioral health services provided by ACBH and contracted community based organizations. (Not all the services listed here are funded by MHSA funds.)

Temporary Housing Resources

Most emergency and transitional housing in Alameda County is linked with Alameda County’s Coordinated Entry System (CES). To access these beds, consumers can follow the CES referral process – everyonehome.org/resources/looking-for-housing

Certain temporary housing programs operating on a seasonal basis and take referrals outside of the Coordinated Entry System. Alameda County Health Care for the Homeless keeps an annually updated list of these opportunities – www.achch.org/winter-emergency-resources.html

CalWorks recipients experiencing homelessness are eligible for 16 days of emergency hotel assistance every 12 months that can be accessed by contacting their Social Services Agency worker – www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/CDSS-Programs/Housing-Programs/CalWORKs-Homeless-Assistance

Housing-Related Time-Limited Financial Assistance

A significant amount of time-limited financial assistance is linked with the Housing Resource Centers participating in Alameda County’s coordinated entry system.   Currently homeless individuals can access these resources through the CES referral process.   During their assessment, consumers and their supports should indicate if they believe short-term financial assistance could help resolve their current housing crisis.

Alameda County Home Stretch Housing Assistance Fund – everyonehome.org/our-work/home-stretch – For those with active Medi-Cal in Alameda County who are homeless or at-risk in the last 24 months and working with an agency that serves households experiencing homelessness. Agency must complete the application process with client and follow-up 13 months after assistance is provided. Funding can be used for security deposit, 1st month’s rent, utility start-up costs, home furnishings, moving company, modifications for accessibility.

Seasons of Sharing (SoS) – www.alamedasocialservices.org/public/services/community/season_of_sharing.cfm – maximum assistance amount = $3,000; for seniors 55 and older; low to moderate income families with dependent children, emancipated foster youth, veterans, victims of domestic abuse or violent crimes; pregnant women in their second trimester

Alameda County Behavioral Health (ACBH) Housing Assistance Fund – www.acbhcs.org/bhcs-everyone-home-fund – for consumers receiving ongoing outpatient ACBH mental health services; funds can be used for security deposits, first months rent, and back rent; requests must come from the mental health provider working with a consumer
